| Florida Keys Group Escorted Trip |

 |
Fishing the Florida Keys - a match made in Heaven, with the only official sports sponsored guide powered by Shimano.. Each year, Angling Direct Holiday’s head guide Dave Plummer, escorts a limited number of anglers to the world famous Florida Keys. For many years this area has been and remains one of the top fishing locations anywhere in the world. If the sheer amount of large Tarpon, big Bonefish and punishing Permit weren’t enough, there are always the great Sharks, Lemons, Black tips, Nurse Sharks and Redfish, Stingrays, Jacks and the obligatory Barracudas to keep you busy. With Dave, the emphasis on these trips is great sport fishing, as all fishing is done with either light spinning gear or 20Ibs to 30Ibs class boat rods. Also as this is one of our many powered by Shimano destinations you can rest assure that you will not only be staying and fishing with a top quality guide but also using all the latest state of the art Shimano fishing tackle. It's no wonder that with Dave's vast experience of catering for groups of anglers and his wealth of guiding experience in the Keys, makes these escorted trips so popular.
The fishing can be broken down into four sections: Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit and other Back Country fishing. Bonefish fishing consists of poling along gin clear flats, sight casting to tailing Bonefish in 6 to 12 inches of water. It can be the most heart stopping experience a fisherman can endure. The Tarpon are truly one of the most magnificent fish that occupy the waters of the Florida Keys. There are a several ways that you can fish for Tarpon; Poling along shallow water flats in search of cruising or laid up fish, casting small crabs, shrimp and live bait, or those with nerves of steel can try to catch one of these 100lb fish on a fly. Then there's the Permit, the trophy of the flats, pound for pound one of the strongest fish in the world. The back country fishing is like a different world and can produce numerous species of fish. Here there are more sharks than you can handle, some as big as the boat, plus 100lb plus Sting Rays, Snook, Redfish and back breaking Grouper. One thing is for sure, while fishing with Dave in the Keys, is that the hardest decision you make, is what to pursue each day.
What our customers have to say:
- "Dave you produced the goods once again thank you so much." Richard Foster
- "Dave what a great trip you gave us, we caught Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, and so many different Sharks. Everyday out on the boat with you mate is and adventure." Colin Belton
- "Catching a 20lb Snook was magic thanks Dave so much." Christine Merritt

Personal Recommendations: |
Fishing on the Flats |
|
| |
|
| Bone & Permit fishing on the flats with general rod and reel are normally fished with live shrimp or crabs. Therefore rods need to be light enough to cast small free lined baits but strong enough with power in the butt section to hook and land big Bonefish & Permit. |

| Remember Bone fish in the key’s are not small, it’s not uncommon to encounter and hook double figure fish. These fish when hooked will easily strip 200 yards of line of your reel, therefore make sure your reel has at least 300 yards capacity of 15lb line. |
